Bomas of Kenya?

My itinerary has us spending an afternoon at Bomas. Can anyone tell what this place is like?

According to lonely planet, Bomas of Kenya is a cultural centre at Langata, near the entrance to the Nat Park south-west from Nairobi. Traditional dances and music are preformed in recreated surroundings.Souvenirs shops around the site. I have not been there.

Bomas is sort of a Kenyan folk life park. They have displays of the various types of tribal housing, some dancers and otehr such things. It's not someting that you should choose over a trip to the Mara, but it is enjoyable. I believe that the famous restaurant The Carnivore is nearby, if it is still operating. This is the place where they serve all sorts of exotic meats (wildebeest, zebra, etc.)

The Carnivore, and the famous Dr. Dawa, are indeed operating!
