Bobotie

Does anyone have a good recipe for bobotie? I've lost the one I had. I'm trying to recreate the bobotie I had at Jemima's in Oudtshorn. There were several accompaniments with it too. Anyone?

As you probably know, there are many different recipes for bobotie. Some are simple, some more eloborate with apricot jam, etc. I like the ones with the egg/milk part baked on top and lots of raisins. Other people like the egg/milk mixed in with less or no raisins.

I have not been to the restaurant in Oudtshoorn so Selwyn will have to help here, but I found one on the internet that's close to the recipe my mom uses in nearby Mossel Bay:

Getting your hands on Mrs H.S Ball's Original Recipe Chutney is key!

No doubt you will get many different recipes (and tastes) posted here!

Mrs Balls Chutney is actually a very standard Indian style chutney so even if you can't get this brand you should be able to substitute a standard sweet Indian chutney.
