Best Time of the Year to Enjoy Cairo and Surrounding Area

My father and I are planning a trip to Rome, Athens, Cairo and possibly Istanbul. We are trying to get an idea when is the best time to visit, weather and price. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For Cairo, October to mid-April is best, unless yourself and your father can stand heavy heat. From mid-April on, it seems to hardly ever go below 30. If you get to Cairo, or maybe even instead of, Luxor is a marvellous place = the two major temples, Valley of Kings, Tut's tomb, etc. We stayed in the Mercure (everyone calls it the Etap) in Luxor and found it excellent.
