April and May are the "long rains" season or the Green Season. While prices are lower and few people travel during this time, others say this is the best time to visit the Serengeti or the Crater.

But we're talking about the weather. Some years there is lots of rain, others not much - no guarantee. Sometimes it rains for a day and then not again for 2,3 or 4... other times it can rain part of a day, every day.

Game is there, as they don't have places to hide, even if you do sometimes have to travel further to find their hideouts - rare that many will be out in the open. More likely under trees, small forests, behind kopjes. As for you, travel might get you bogged down on muddy roads, or roads that are unpassable, no one can say. If you can postpone to 2nd week in June (after the rains), I'd suggest that.
