Best European City combine with Marrakech….

Hi! We are thinking about traveling to Marrakech in either January, March or May from JFK. We would like to have a layover in Europe for a few days and then go nonstop to RAK. Which city would couple well with Marrakech and make for a easy flight over? We have already done Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, and London. We would like to try some place else!

We have our connections to RAK through Madrid when we go next spring.

Do you know whether Iberia is a good airline? I read some reviews about their planes being horribly tight.

I went via Lisbon. Well, London and then Lisbon on the way out, and Paris on the way back, but if you want a new city I highly recommend Lisbon. I flew TAP to Casablanca.

I found Iberia to be fairly similar to airlines based in North America as far as service and ticketing. Their seat pitches do seem to have gotten considerably smaller in the last couple of years, with 31" for widebody (trans-atlantic) planes in economy and only 28" in the single aisle planes, likely to be running between Madrid and Marrakesh. To me that's very tight.

Otherwise, Spain and Morocco make interesting counterpoints, with their long intertwined histories.
