To fellow fodorites:

I don't know why her tone has changed. I definitely did not write anything today that I didn't write in the numerous emails sent to Alana (even those she wanted more explanation on) when we returned home from our trip last July.

I reviewed all my previous correspondence with Alana earlier today dated all the way back from July through October to make sure I was clear in the events that took place.

My husband even read the emails sent to Alana as I wrote them to make sure we had covered all events accurately. I did not take what happened on this trip lightly therefore I made sure she knew all the facts.

I too, thought she was a reliable person and company but for some reason things went very wrong and those things were out of our control.

Thanks to all of you for your support through these last couple of days.

Even though I never wanted all of these problems brought out in the open, it means a lot to get feedback from fellow travelers on problems encountered during trips.

If anyone ever goes through something similar to what we did, know that I am here ready to listen and help in any way. It is really a tough situation to be in.

Hopefully now, we will get resolution on this once and for all. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.

Alana, good for you for refunding her money. That is good business. Divewop, later on please post your happy conclusion to the board once it is completely over.

And the power of the Fodorites strikes again! First we were able to dismantle a hunting website, Classic Hunting Safaris (aka Classic Africa), and now after many months a Fodorite will hopefully receive a much deserved refund.

Roccco I thought I would not respond to anymore posts but I must

Fodor site is great. Great information.
BUT, it has nothing to do with my company looking into Sandy's situation again. Between posts, Sandy and I have been emailing. It was one of these emails that gave me a new look at facts she already gave me. The best way a traveller can communicate with problems is directly to the source not by airing laundry.

If you note I started my posting clearly stating that 'we did not serve her well' - FODOR'S DID NOT STRIKE AGAIN. Travel company personnel love what they do..we are not in this business to 'get' anyone..but because of the love of travel. It hurts us emotionally just as much as a traveller - but in a different way.

Alana,

Perhaps I am not giving you enough credit, but I really do not think you had any intention on offering any discount before you showed up on this board. So, yes, I do believe that Fodorites, in fact, have struck again!
