Thanks guys. As the costs for the trip add up, this is great news.

After getting the answers from Tom and matnikstym confirming that I didn't need a converter, I started looking at some other power supplies that I use on an everyday basis. I am going to Switzerland for work later in the year, taking more electronics and was thinking ahead for once. So I did a little web search and found this site for people, like me, with very little knowledge about electricity. So I thought I would share. It has pictures, along with the explanations that are always helpful to me.

Hope it helps someone else too.

I just got back from a 2 week trip to China with my (new) Canon S3. Same experience with playing around with all the optional settings -- but I did come back with wonderful shots and videos nonetheless.

My Eveready Charger broke down the first time I used it in China, but a friend recharged batteries for me during the trip. I also brought along a big package of Duracell Ultras bought at Costco, and alternated those with the chargeable batteries on a daily basis.

It was nice to have an extra 4 in my bag if I needed them, but found that I could get a whole day's worth of pictures from each set of 4 non-rechargeables....

I set it to M1 and "fine" -- I really don't need to print anything larger than 20x30. I brought 3 2-Gig sandiscs as they were on sale at BestBuy for like $25. Memory that cheap gives you lots of options!
