Back to the 60s GTG

Hi Guys
Ok, I have just finished meeting with Jaco and his associates and we have come up with the following itinerary. It will be a 6 night itinerary with the 1st and last night spent at Outlook lodge near Johannesburg Int Airport. The reason for this is because guests will be arriving in Johannesburg at different times of the day so the first night will be in Johannesburg where everyone will get the chance to meet one another. We will then have a braai (barbecue) for dinner.
The next morning at 05h00 we will then hit the road for the 6 hour drive to Pungwe Bush Camp in the Manyaleti Game Reserve for 4 nights on a full board basis. On route we will stop for breakfast which will be for your own account.
We have chosen to use Pungwe Bush Camp as opposed to camping because we will take the lodge for ourselves and it lends itself to the old style of safari. Cooking will be done on an open fire in front of all the guests and if you want you can participate. The emphasis of this safari will be walking and going out at night. In this area we are not allowed to go off-road, however, Jaco will be tracking the animals on foot and when he has found them he will then take us into the sighting on foot. For those of you who know Jaco, you will know he is legendary for this.
On the last day we will leave the lodge early in the morning and make our way back to Johannesburg via the Panoramic route, stopping at famous places like, Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon, Mac Mac Falls, Pilgrims Rest, etc. We will arrive back at Outlook Lodge around 6PM where we will once again have a braai and watch the video that I will make, of which each of you will get a copy. The following morning we will transfer you to the airport for your ongoing journeys.
NOTES:
We will only be able to take a max of 8 guests in 4 chalets so guests will have to share.
The cost will be R8560.00 per person. This includes the transfers, all accommodations, all meals (except on the road to and from Pungwe Lodge), all game viewing activities.
Drinks, gratuities and curios is for your own account.
We plan on doing this GTG "Back to the 60s safari" towards the end of March and if it is a success we will run it again in September.

Please contact me on the above email if you would like to join us or have any questions.

Hey Gang-
So far there are 4 Africaphiles who are showing serious interest on the March 25 GTG in S.A.
If any of you guys are interested, let's keep the thread going.

I've priced airfare on Delta out of ATL to JNB and it's a little over $1200.
For South African Airways out of IAD (Dulles) it's a little over $1200 too.

And am always interested to know if anyone can find cheaper flights.
