Atomic alarm clocks overseas

Stupid question (perhaps), but does an atomic alarm clock change to local times when overseas? My clock doesnt mention overseas use. I am posting in the Africa board because that is where we shall be next. No sarcasm, please.

Hello twoaussies,

I don't have an atomic clock, so do not know the answer from personal experience.

However, a website from which you can order atomic clocks states that they operate only in the United States, the southern parts of Canada and the northern parts of Mexico. That apparently is the range of the territory that is covered by the radio signal that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) sends from from Ft. Collins, Colorado and on which atomic clocks rely for their operation. That's how it works, to the best of my understanding.

Thanks Judy; that was what I was afraid of.
