We will be in South Africa for almost a month and want to know which banks
have the lowest fee for atm withdrawals. We have the option of using Citibank atm, Chase, or even Wells Fargo and we will be using credit cards for major expenses but still need to have cash. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it since I know that some bank fees have become outrageous this past year.

The South African ATMs won't charge a fee. It's your local bank in the States that will. Therefore, I'd suggest you contact the banks direct to ask.

Some banks charge a flat fee per withdrawal, some a percentage of what's withdrawn, others do both.

Some banks have a 'partner' bank in a foreign country where if you can find the bank itself or one of their ATMs... there might not be any fee assessed.
