Are Salomons silly?
My husband and I will be heading to Tanzania in October, and after reading one of the posts I am wondering if wearing Salomon Extend Low Hikers will be too silly. We don't plan to sit around at the camps all the time and we may do an overnight flycamp in Sands River. Would a pair of good sneakers do the trick? And if so, what would you experts recommend?
Now that our trip has been taken care of , I guess I am obsessing about the small stuff. Answer this one and I'm bound to come up with another shallow question! Thanks all. |
I would go with the Salomons. You will be glad to have them to avoid excess sand/stones and other debris. Others advised me of the same and unfortunately I ignored them! Take the hikers and have a great trip!

I always take sturdy hiking boots. In fact, I wear them to keep luggage weight down, and they're the only footwear I take except perhaps for flipflop style slippers for inside the tent. It doesn't matter that I might spend the whole time sitting in a vehicle; I know I can get out and walk in the roughest country anytime it might be necessary. Guess my feet are my Achilles heel :)) because some of my friends, and guides I've known, wear only sandals. So the short answer to your question is: take the footwear you feel is best for you and don't worry about what other people think.

Hi Sharon,
So I guess you weren't so keen on the Keens after all...? Cheers, Julian |
Not for bush walks. But I still LOVE my Keens, thank you very much! ;-)
