Anyone remember me?

Hey!!! It has been five months since our vacation to Tanzania and Rwanda. We were supposed to go to Kenya but we ended up re-routing the trip! I never posted a review!!! Shame on me!

Mnemba was definitely a high!!! It was fabulous!!!

Virunga was definitely a low!! It was totally not worth the money. I wished I had known about the new hotel (I forgot the name) that opened after I booked.

The gorillas were amazing. Tons of great sightings!

Tanzania Under Canvas was great. We had some really nice sightings including a leopard! It was a very different experience from Royale Malewane in South Africa. I preferred Malewane whereas my husband preferred TUC.

Of course, of course.

Thanks for checking in. When time allows, a more detailed trip report would be nice.

It's about time you posted Dr. Andrea! We were all wondering how it turned out. Please at least post some of your great pictures, thanks!

Of course we remember you from Fodors and from the newspapers! Welcome back and glad you enjoyed the wildlife.

I remember you, too, and read the Times story as well. Please post a report soon!

BTW: Do you own a vineyard on LI?

My confusion about Virunga must stem from the fact that I visited it more than twenty years ago from the Congo side (then called Zaire). I flew from Kinshasha to Bukavu, then drove to Goma and on north to Virunga, all opposite Rwanda. There was another national park within Zaire that I have always thought was one of the best of the many I have visited in Sub-Saharan Africa. ZZ
