Thanks, sunshine for all the research! I had also ran a check on the Cairo Tower, and found great reviews...maybe it's a case of beauty being in the eye of the beholder. Cairo Tower was recommended by the girl who booked our tour and she lives in Cairo, but I honestly don't know if she's been there or just knows about it. I'm thinking we may just go with either the Maxim or the Grand Hyatt...if we can get reservations.

Heymo,
I got from the Trip Advisor forum that the cost is USD100pp for a dinner at The Revolving Restaurant. I just called the Restaurant and confirmed that the average cost excluding drinks is 400LE pp. Just thought you might want to know.

Heymo, I hate to be cynical, but I would go with the restaurant reviewer over the woman at the travel agency or the Travel Advisor. why? Travel Agency may be paid to push this place. Trip advisor reviewers may have gone there quite a while ago or they may have a less refined palate.

Restaurant reviewer's comments were fairly recent, I think, and discussed the shabby decor, among other things. Shabbiness being more objective than bad service or food wasn't good.

I would hate for you to have this special night ruined by a restaurant which is not up to snuff.

By the way, I read about some of the dinner cruises that have an Iftar meal. Sounds like you could cross off two things on your wish list at one meal with that.

I understand what you mean, Sunshine...if I hadn't spent the last 5 months e-mailing the woman from our tour company and developing a friendship with her, I would agree. That being said, we have decided to wait and play it by ear. Too many choices, and I don't want everything planned out to the nth degree...

Tuesday is fast approaching!

Have a great trip! Just had a brainstorm, why don't you stop into the Cairo Tower restaurant before the big day just to check it out?

That's a great idea! We have some free time the first day we're there, only seeing the Pyramids that day, so maybe that's what we'll do.

Thanks again for all your help!
