Anyone been to Royal Malewane?
 

What are your experiences? We booked it for January and I am curious about it. TIA

I was at royal malewane about a year and a half ago. The place is absolutley wonderful. The "rooms" are unreal the service was 6 star. This year I went to lion sands Ivory lodge, and i wish i had gone back to royal Malewane. (not that ivory was not great) I realley found R.M. to be such a special place.
So in terms of rooms and service food you will be blown away.
Now In terms of game viewing.....
It will also be great, we saw the big five, But how great i think will depend if you were ever on safari before, If you never were on safari you will think it is awesome and will be more than satesfied. If you have been on safari before, (depending on where you have been) you will still find it Great, maybe not awesome but great. You will probabley see the big five, they will get you extremley close to the animals, they have great guides and trackers.
If you have been on safri before let me know where and i can comment. If not prepare to become an addict.

This is our first safari. Can you tell me more about the food? Did you have choices? What was served for each course? Are there any specific tips you have?

Concerning the food I can only say that everyone else was raving about it. I cannot comment as they arranged for kosher food to be flown in from Joburg to meet my needs.
However like I said the other guest were all raving. John Jackson is the chef he is supposed to be world renown; he is also quite a gentleman and was always looking out for us. The staff in general was beyond accommodating. When we were there most of the guests were honeymooners and were generally a fun bunch. Not uptight and stiff, just right. How many nights are you staying? Are you flying in to their airstrip or driving or flying to hoedspruit?

I am pretty sure we are flying. We are staying for three nights.
