Any advice for Ghana/Accra travellers?

Does anyone have first hand advice about travelling to Accra, Ghana? Food, taxis, tipping, good places to see, safety, etc.?

I used to live in Ghana but that was 30 years ago. The food is good and the sanitation is adequate. Most of the people could speak English. I would advice against walking around at night or in bad areas (even during the day). Do not carry valuables with you when you go to Labadi Beach. The taxi fare is negotiated before entering the cab. The tips are around 10%. The roads between Accra and Kumasi or between Accra and Tema is not very good. I lived in Takoradi and Tema and found the people to be friendly but poor. There are several dialects spoken in Ghana depending on the area that you are visiting. Fante is spoken in Takoradi and Ashante is spoken in Accra but you will hear other dialects spoken by people who migrated into the city. There are also Hausa and Ibo people who migrated from Nigeria to Ghana.
Have a goog trip.
