Amazing footage of wild dog kill of buffalo at Simbambili...

http://www.tagasafaris.co.za/african...-19-aug-04.htm

I didn't even know that there were wild dogs in the Sabi Sand!

I realize that is the nature of the bush, but I cannot help but feel horrible for that buffalo as it was surrounded by a dozen wild dogs.

Then, after a hyena stole the kill, the pack of wild dogs actually mauled the hyena and chased it off!

And until now, I had always thought that August was the worst month for the Sabi Sand! Something that my ranger at Djuma Vuyatela told me about it being very dry and windy, kicking up too much dirt to enjoy the area. Well, I imagine with Djuma Vuyatela bordering Simbambili, that these wild dogs were also at Djuma Vuyatela and they didn't seem too bothered about the wind or the presence of Mark w/ Taga Safaris filming this whole unbelievable episode!

Amazing stuff, but I don't know if I would be able to stomach it. Then again, I think that I would have cheered for the wild dogs once they were able to kick the hyena in the *** and take back their kill!

Good stuff!!!
