Am I ready for Duba Plains?
AFter a year of planning, saving, wrangling with airlines - we are finally set to return to Botswana in May.
A different sort of experience this time. I call it the People and Predators tour. We have a full day in Johannesburg and are meeting up with a couple we met last year in Vic Falls. They are mapping out our day for us and ending with dinner at their home. Then on to Maun where we spend two nights. We are meeting up with friends we have made along the way and visiting with the fine folks at Children in the Wilderness. Then on to the bush - the predators part - three nights Chitabe, four nights Duba Plains - ending with two nights at Xigera (more people part) I am prepping myself for Duba with repeat showings of Relentless Enemies and not closing my eyes. However - I'm not as prepped as I thought. This morning my cat caught a finch, showed it off to me before ripping into it. I screamed a bit before running inside. I'm such a wimp. Need to put on Relentless Enemies again. |
I think you'll be ready! The most interesting part of Duba for me was the lion-buffalo choreography where one side would advance and the other would retreat.
I will be very interested in your first hand account of what's going on with the pride structure and how Junior is doing. Looks like a fantastic trip all around. |
Also, maybe early floods this year with all the rains?
|
Hari I was wondering the same. The latest camp news from Chitabe said camp was on its own island right now due to the rains.

I'm sure you'll have a great time ..... enjoy!!!
