Anyone done a gorilla trek in Sept/Nov/or December?

Unfortunately we're limited to holiday times due to work.

Beginning of September
End of November
End of December

Are any of these times particulary horrible in parts of Uganda or Rwanda? Our first choice right now is PNV.

Thanks!

Toshi

Most parts of Uganda receive between 1 and 2 metres of rain each year. In Western Uganda and Lake Victoria regions it can rain at almost any time of year, although as a guideline the wet seasons are from mid-Sept to Nov.

Rwanda's PNV is similar to Uganda.

I suggest therefore early September or end of December and avoid november if you can

Yours, Richard

I visited both Bwindi and PNV at the end of August, which I expect is similar to beginning of September, and the weather was perfect (sunny, no rain) during my hikes, but it did rain a lot at night.

I trekked in Bwindi Dec 19th. We were in Uganda 11 -31st. In al that time it only rained on us for 2 hours - and that was day 2 in Entebbe mid afternoon.
Trekking was easy as there was no mud. Also true when we trekked for Chimpanzee in Kibale Chimbura gorge. The latter would be treacherous in poor weather, as the gorge was very steep in places. And in the wet, there's hippo there!
