allergy sufferer on safari

hi there,ok i have this friend in florida thats very interested about a safari. but she has bad allergies towards pets/animals. does anyone here have this problem? if so how do you deal with it? is there a way to deal with it? or it is not much of a problem while on safari? not like being stuck in a house that has pets.
thanks for any info.

I don't think your friend will be close enough to the wildlife to have an allergic reaction. I've not experienced anyone having that kind of reaction while on safari. Some people have reactions to grasses and the like, though.

Dave,

Unless your friend is planning on petting some lions or riding a giraffe, I think he/she will be safe! ;)

Let me tell you, I suffer from really bad allergies (not so much the last couple years) and I ALWAYS look forward to my safaris because I never get allergies while on safari. Probably a combination of clean air, no pets ever in the rooms, and who knows what else.

Tuskerdave, your mysteriousness is becoming irritating!

I can tell everyone that Tuskerdave recently went to Kenya, and that he’s not giving any information about his trip. What could be done about this behaviour?

cooncat3 Nov 7th, 2006 11:23 AM

Well, we could try to get him banned....

;-)

Good one Cooncat!

Dave, maybe you'll be posting from Africa in the future!

Banning isn't painful enough.

I can honestly say that if your friend is getting so close to the animals that her allergies are acting up, she probably has more to worry about such as being eaten! Seriously I have the same allergies and have been on safari several times a year for the past 12 years and never had an issue. Take some claritin and enjoy!
