Airlink baggage question- help?

We are leaving next week for a trip entirely in South Africa. We will be flying Airlink internally to George and also up to SZK. I know the weight restrictions for economy..but I had it in my head the luggage needed to be at least partially soft sided ( ie a duffel with wheels). I got an email reminder from them yesterday- no where can I find this restriction. I would prefer to take a regular hard shell suitcase. Does anyone know if that is acceptable?

Does this help? No mention of soft sided luggage that I could find, but the photo at the top of the page appears to show a hard shell suitcase.

Soft sided may be what a tour operator prefers to help with cramming it into a vehicle. Airlines are more concerned with weight and dimensions.

Thank you…we ended up finding a phone number where we could reach a person at Airlink…they confirmed all they care about is weight anddimension

A requirement that luggage be soft-sided may be for a bush flight -- not for a commercial flight on major airline. What you had in your head probably came from something you read about bush flights.
