Airfare ? USA to Kigali, and Zanzibar to USA

Im going to be asking the company we are climbing Kilimanjaro with to give us help with airfare, but I was wondering if anyone could give me any hints on how to go about this.

Unless I screwed something KLM just gave us Heathrow to Kigali, and Zanzibar to Heathrow for 525 a person (this seems WAY WAY too low but it is what is coming up!) I almost just booked it without question, but I dont know if something is screwy. Seems Heathrow to NYC is around 7-800 round trip with tax. Thus, 2000 a person altogether (not counting Kigali to Tanzania). Does this sound right?

the7 are quoting in GBP, Great Britain Pounds so 525 is $1022 U.S. and your total is $2669. U.S. as of todays exchange rate.

usually when you book a flight from a country other than the U.S., they put the fare into local currency, in this case UK pounds as that is where the flight originates.

Why not fly direct to Schiphol, and cut out the nightmare of a tansfer at LHR. One less chance for them to lose your baggage too.

I think what the OP means is that LHR-KGL/ZNZ-LHR is GBP 685.30pp + NYC-LHR is USD 700-800pp = roughly $2000+pp.

Just be aware that if you're buying separate tickets, neither carrier will be responsible if you misconnect at LHR. Allow plenty of time in case of delays. And if you're originating in NYC on BA, they probably won't through check your bags either, so you may need to reclaim/recheck.
