2)Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge:SSGR,RSA

And anyone who had two brain cells to rub together wouldn't touch any of them.
Cocoons - well away from anything that could be called real life - and the prices are obscene with it. Guess it provides employment and guess most of the revenue raised goes off-shore.

Alice,

Why so bitter?

You said that these places are "cocoons - well away from anything that could be called real life."

Well, obviously they are somebody's real life, just not yours or mine, although anybody staying at thr Royal Malewane -- recenly available on my beloved Luxury Link for only $500 USD per room per night for a four night package -- would likely find themselves dining with some other couple that paid, oh, about $6,500 USD more a night for the room. My guess would be that celebrities stay in these types of rooms, and probably are able, like anyone else, able to get a discounted rate. I cannot imagine that these suites at the rack rates listed get too much action, but I am sure that the lodge would rather sell them, even at half price rather than see them sit empty.

Hey all

Just been to Lion Sands River Lodge and whilst there we had a look at their new Ivory Lodge - looks unbelievable at about R9000 PPPN. That must be right up there with the best of them!!
