Great photos. I really like the shots of the lions feasting -- reminds me of my trip to Masai Mara. Thanks, Michael

Thanks for sharing your honeymoon photos!:) Looks like you guys had a blast!

I loved the pic of the cheetah "laughing". Reminded me of Hobbes in the old Calvin and Hobbes cartoons.

Melissa - you have some great photos! I love the cheetah and babies and the hippo fight. Did you end up buying the D70 and the 300mm lens?

What a wonderful honeymoon you must have had. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Yes, that was the camera! It is lovely and pretty easy to use considering we bought it only a few weeks before the trip. I wish I had a 100-400 lens though...we did alot of switching between lens that could have been avoided with a 100-400 plus there were times when i had wished i could get just a bit closer.

Great photos--and it's evident you two had a fantastic time. Now you just need to start planning your anniversary trip...

Melissa - I think everyone wants to be a bit closer! I got back from MalaMala on 10/2 (I used a 300mm and converters) and the next weekend a friend offered me the use of his 500mm lens for my next trip. Can't wait.

Obviously your camera worked out well for you - so many great pictures.

toccare girl,

Thank you for your amazing photos. I especially love the laughing cheetah and the fighting hippos. It is DEFINITELY time for a new camera before my next trip!

Melissa-
Really wonderful photos. Brought back memories of our trip last year to the Mara. Great predator shots! Was Ellie one of the hot air balloon pilots? We took our flight from LG too. Liz

Melissa -
Great photos - up-close-and-personal with so many; loved the laughing cheetah, and the baby cheetah and that hippo fight. And the Serval cat in daytime - we saw one leisurely walking across the dining area one evening when in Kenya, WOW. However, those aren't Thompson gazelles - Tommies have a black curved stripe on their side rumps. But it looks like this group of antelopes were having a "gals day out" - waiting on their mate!

But it's not fair to leave it to "styleoracle" to tell the tales; so, at least, your thoughts on Fundu Lagoon and Pemba Island as not many who post here get to visit this island.

Thanks for sharing these photos.

I will try to post reviews on Pemba Island and Fundu Lagoon soon...will do it under a separate post.
