African safari

My family and I are planning a safari in July of 2006. We have researched two companies, Thomson Safairs and Goway vacations. Has anyone had experience with either of these companies? Thanks.

Don't know anything about them. We are leaving in 5 days for our trip to Africa and we did everything through go2africa.com. They set up the exact itinerary we wanted and even dealt with our whims and changing portions of it at the last minute. Check them out.

robarch,

After speaking to dozens of agents over the past four years for each of my safaris, I am very satisfied with Taga Safaris.

Where are you thinking of visiting and for how many nights do you wish to spend on safari?

What are you hoping to get out of your safari? Just game drives? Or, bush walks, canoeing, cultural visits, as well? There really is so much to planning a safari that a safari newbie is often not aware of.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

Your original post was for Tanzania. Have you extended your sights to other countries? Thomson is a Tanzania specialist.

Since you have so much time, you could get an itinerary from each agent and post it here, if you wish, for comments--or shop those itineraries around to other agents suggested on the board and see what they come up with.
