Africa Trip Photos
Hi all,
The 21 year old son of a family friend just sent me an email link to some of his photos from Africa. He spent what seems a whirlwind six months in the Bush in both Botswana and Zambia. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at them. here is the link www.pbase.com/backtoafrica regards John |
Nice albums - get him to register here and post a trip report: I bet there's a few thousand words he could write!

lbj,
Thanks for sharing those fabulous photos. I have only managed to get through the South Luangwa photos but they are absolutely stunning. Very intense lion photos, especially when they are feeding on the kills. Great hyena and hippo photos, as well. A little surprised there are no crocodile photos, but maybe the photographer did not find Nile Crocodiles as fascinating as I do, but they are certainly in South Luangwa in large numbers. I don't know what the occasion was, but how lucky he is to have 6 months in Africa! |
A great collection of photos with so many terrific close up shots.
Thank you for sharing. |
John,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful pictures. Being able to spent six months in the bush - that's the spirit. Greetings, Johan |
I'd love to be able to do 6 months but at least we managed 9 weeks in 2004!
Great photos, thanks for sharing! |
Hello again,
Roccco, Russell was spending six months in Africa after graduating in June. It was a break before he begins at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in MAy. He really got into photography since his first visit in 2003. He had some amazing photos from the Selinda. He was working for a company in Zambia and Desert and Delta in Botswana. He had alot of spare time and judging by Kings Pool money. I spoke to him this morning and he told me his philosophy. If you are there, go and see it. Matt- he does not really want to write a trip report. Alot of his experiences are very personal working within some lodges. Though im sure if you message him at Pbase, he will be of some assistance. Will direct him hear to read your kind coments John |
Hi John,
Hey, ask him if I can take over the position he has since vacated! Nice to here from you, Take care, Matt |
Matt,
You seem the perfect candidate for No Going Back, like at Luangwa River Lodge! |
Funny you should mention it... Now where do I put the wife 2 kids a dog 2 cats and everything else. But give me a TV film crew and I'll go anywhere. So long as it involves a safari lodge and serengeti. All right so I'd be content with Ngorongoro ;)

Of course "nice to here from you" should read "nice to hear from you". I must stop drinking red wine I must stop drinking red wine I must stop drinking red wine. Okay, just 1 bottle per night!
BTW you kind of read my mind re fly on the wall docs: I've been invited to TZ to be a part of some Maasai tribal celebrations in a small place in Manyara. This might lead to a stint teaching English in a Maasai school. Now that might be worth watching... |
Hi all,
I believe the some more Photos, mainly from Chitabe should now be uploaded onto the webpage. Ciao |
