Aagh! Wrong link...look for "A Dream Come True" thread.

I have been in contact with several tour operators for intineraries for 2008 - Africa Dream Safaris is one of the six, and they have been very responsive, but definitely not hearing and honoring all my requests, so I have had to be fairly insistant.

On the other had, Sandi from Africa Serendipity, who frequents this post, has been super responsive, helpful, and very detailed with her information so far.

Both Sandi (with Africa Serendipity) and Africa Dream Safaris (I read reviews about them on another website) are the two companies that seem to really want to make my trip "my trip."

I have all but written off four others that I started inquiries with over 2 months ago. If you would like more details, please email me at [email protected]

I think the "A Dream Come True" thread was written by someone at Africa Dream Safaris so it's really an advertisement. Re-read it and see what you think. (Plus it's the first time Wendy ever posted.) But, I could be totally wrong. If Wendy posts more about the trip we may be able to tell.

I found ADS on a recommendation list - I will keep looking for where i originally found it...

sundowner,

Read the thread and totally agree. Doesn't mean they are a bad company, just a bit shameless....

ADS has a great website, but we found them to be among the highest of the companies that we priced.

Just wanted to let you know that I am a legitimate customer and had never heard of Africa Dream Safaris before we began our research this past January. We actually chose them because of the positive referrals we found on this Fodor's site. Our group of 10 volunteer at Como Zoo in Saint Paul, Minnesota and had been dreaming of and saving for this trip for 10 years. We probably could have found a less expensive company but ADS was able to tailor our trip to exaclty what we wanted to do. We enjoyed it so much that we are planning a return trip with more zoo volunteers in another 8 years (we have to save up our pennies or it would be sooner!) - and we already know we will use ADS because we had such a positive experience working with them.

Wendy,

I had the exact reaction as sundowner when I first read your "Dream" post. Glad you are you and not ADS.

Real accounts by real people are a great learning tool. Looking forward to your report on the other thread.

Wendy - I'm glad I was wrong! I didn't want to question your post until you had a chance to give more info but people were already recommending ADS because of your brief commentary.

Africa trips are so expensive I would hate for someone to rely on a travel agent's opinion of their own agency.
