Addo Elephant Park

After going to Kruger, is Addo Elephant Park worth a visit? We were thinking of staying at Addo one night.

We spent two nights at Addo two weeks ago. I haven't been to Kruger for more than 20 years, so I can't compare them, but I can say that we enjoyed Addo. The night game drive was really good, and the ranger was knowledgeable and personable. We ate at the restaurant one evening and though the food was very good. The next night we did our own braai at our rondavel. We saw lots of elephants, lots of red hartebeest and kudu, and on the night drive, lots of spring hares and elephants.

I'm sorry my Kruger experience isn't recent enough to be helpful.

There is a mention of Addo in the Global magazine I just bought this afternoon and read over coffee...

A photographer couple recommend 10 parks in South Africa which they find particularly good for sightings and photography.

They say that although the park is small - and one can often see the boundaries - that it's elephant viewing is very good and that it does also offer other game viewing opportunities.
