Egyptair is the only airline flying nos-stop/direct to Cairo, from JFK. ManyEuropean carriers can get you there from the US, changing planes in their respective hubs. I don't know of any US carrier that flies their own metal to Cairo.

ditto rizzuto's response. EA is probably the cheapest and only direct. if you want to fly through delta or NWA, they usually stopover in Paris/Italy/Greece/etc... check out the flights on www.kayak.com

We found Egypt Air about $40 more each way than United (code share with Lufthansa) changing planes in Frankfurt. A chance to stretch in the middle of the trip and 12,000 FF miles on Star Alliance was another incentive.

Please be careful when asking an airline for a "direct" flight. Direct is NOT the same as non-stop. A few months ago I was booked on a direct flight from Tel Aviv to Chicago, but that flight made a stop for about an hour in Toronto. Luckily I knew what the word "direct" really means so I anticipated a stop along the way.

Turkish via istanbul could be an easy one, non stop JFK to Instanbul and then a short flight to CAI, as others have said Ehyptair is the only non stop. Another possible Royal Jordanian via Amman.
