a must visit dessert place and an overpriced restaurant

Le Babbette is the best dessert place to visit while you are in Jerusalem. It has mouth watering waffles and uplifting hot chocolate. It's a short walk from the Sheraton Hotel.
Friends is an very overpriced restaurant within the street markets near the W. wailing wall. The food is okay and doesn't really match the price at all.

Talking about Pastries and coffee in Israel....

If you care for dessert that wouldn't melt the enamel of your teeth from an overdose of sugar -- Israel is the place... European-style, much less sweet, more delicate and sophisticated.

Try Israeli CHEESE CAKE! Made of low at cheese, fluffy and light.

Coffee? Oh my... Just the fact that Starbucks has FAILED in Israel and folded in a matter of such a short time, is indicative enough... You get SUPERB coffee in Israel, in ANY coffee shop, not only in one of those fancy gourmet Italian-style coffee chains like Ilan's, Arcaffe, Kapulski or Bonjour.

BTW, a good listing of restaurants in Israel can be found at:
