A Different Perspective of the Okavango

Earlier this week we attended a photo presentation at the National Geographic in downtown DC - the Miracle of the Okavango. The presenter was David Doubilet. His underwater photographs of the Okavango River were spectacular to say the least, and they gave us a chance to see a perspective I doubt we would have otherwise seen - after all, I have no desire to dive in the Okavango River myself.

I thought you might enjoy seeing a small portion of his presentation which is available from the National Geographic site.

If I am remembering correctly an article featuring his photos was published in the December 2004 edition of the magazine.

The next photo presentation we will be going to is in April - featuring cheetahs. Can't wait!

Thanks for the link to that awesome presentation.

Although I appreciated watching it, I don't think I will be snorkeling in the Okavango Delta anytime soon!

That was wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing it - I'd never have seen it without your link.

Interesting link. David Doubilet is the wonderful and so refreshing photographer of the two "Air Jaws" (the shark cage diving up near Gansabaai, SA) programs seen on Discovery and/or National Geographic. His specialty is "water" and has produced so many wonderful full length programs and individual photos.
