6 days in Cairo- too much?

Now back to the original topic (which has divereted to security and world peace for a while): how many days in Cairo...
6 days are a bit too long in one go... considering other parts of Egypt as well.
I would say 3 full days are adequate, throw in an additional day if you go on a one day visit to Alexandria.
You may also consider a day at the end of your trip (assuming you will go to upper Egypt - Luxor, Aswan etc..- and Sinai - Sharm El Sheikh, Taba etc...). If you get back again to Cairo, you may then consider a different hotel. You may opt for one near the Pyramids (Mena House Oberoi or the Meridien, or alternatively one with better views on the nile (Grand Hyatt or one of the two Four Seasons in Cairo)
