3 full days in Cairo

I wanted to know if this would be possible in 3 days. I need to know if this will be possible then in the appropriate order.
Arrive Cairo 730 am, check in....then what to do first.
These are the things I want to see while in Cairo on this trip, because I will be returning again in March.

Pyramids and Sphynx by day
Pyramids and sphynix at nigh...light show
Egyptian museum
Nile dinner Cruise
Khan market
Islamic Cairo
Citadel
Are these things possible in 3 full days. We will be staying in a hotel in downtown Cario and Im looking into hiring a guide from Lady Egypt. Any info or suggestions will be helpful. Thank you

And the hanging church???

Where are you coming from? If you have a long flight to get to Cairo, you may be suffering jet lag. It's recommended that if you do anything that day of arrival it should be outside in fresh air. If you're going to hire a guide from LE they should be able to advise best order to see sights, etc. What you have listed should be possible in 3 full days.

Thank you for your reply, no jet lag because Ill be flying in from Abu Dhabi only about a 2 hour flight. Maybe a little tired since our flight is early but def no jet lag!!
What would you recommend to do on that first day??

Casual_Cairo Nov 16th, 2010 06:39 AM

I'd say it is mandatory to give LE the dates you want to do what you want to do and let them tell you if they can do it for you or not.
It should be pretty easy to get that done - you don't have very much on your list at all.
You should consider seeing Sakkara and Dashure the same day you do Giza.
You have about 2 days worth of tours if you stay busy. You can fit more in or do what is on your list moving fairly slowly and giving yourself more free time.

If it were me, I'd do the pyramids (including Giza, Sakkara, and Dashure) one day.
Coptic Cairo and the Museum another day
And, Islamic Cairo, The Citadel and the Khan another day.
You have 2 night time activities planned. Do know that is it hard to do the pyrmaids tour and then find something to do after that to kill enough time to stay out in Giza waiting for the Sound and Light show unless you want to do a fairly long camel ride after Giza closes.

There are some ideas for your time.

Traveler
Is it polite to ask how much this 3-days tours cost?

TravellerB Dec 30th, 2010 12:27 AM

Dear Shrink
Here below the price for my trips

For Tour 1 70 $ per person include lunch (full day)
For Tour 2 62 $ per person include lunch (full day)
For Tour 3 33 $ per person (full day)

Casual_Cairo Dec 30th, 2010 01:28 AM

TravellerB - these were all PRIVATE tours at these prices? What kind of transport did she provide? That is very cheap for a PRIVATE tour.

That is less than 400LE for Tour 1 and if you visited
Sakkara, Giza and Memphs, the tickets alone cost about 150LE, leaving only 250LE to pay for the van and her time? WOW - someone was underpaid! Maybe she made $25 for the day and the van driver for his van took about $20. YIKES!

If it wasn't private, were they willing to make it private for that price? How many people would they put together on one tour? Or how many did they say they needed to have to do the tour?
Just curious.

On Tour #3 for the full day at only $33, did they provide a van for just you for the whole day? That is really really economical!

TravellerB Dec 31st, 2010 07:25 AM

Yes all these tour were a private tours

TravellerB Dec 31st, 2010 07:26 AM

Only me & my wife with our tour guide at Private van
