2 days in cairo
We am planning a 2 day stopover in Cairo and would like to organise to see as much as possible in this time. Can anyone suggest an itinery? Should we organise for a private tour or join a small group? There are 2 of us. thanks

Private tour would be the way to go. This Forum will provide you with many ideas and names of guides. Casual Cairo is one that is mentioned many times and seems to be the least "commercial".
Good luck. |
Thank you JerryS. We tried Casual Cairo, but they are booked out; We also found that another guide recommended in this forum Ahmed Khattab's email address was no longer valid. [email protected]. So we are still looking and welcome any recent contacts.

Sorry me-travellers - just sent you that email saying I'm booked up. This truly is the first time I've ever gotten booked full to capacity. What is going on that weekend?
It's JUST that weekend that is so crazy and since we do private tours, I do have a capacity limit. Sorry again. Come another time and we'll fit you in for sure! |

WOW! From a tourism standpoint - that is great to hear! Altho I know you hate to say "no" to people. (Is someone having a party that we're not invited to???? :( ) |
Hi Me (sounds like i'm talking to myself)
If Casual Cairo cant help then i'd recommend Egypt Quality Tours, although I dont know what their availability is either, maybe they are going to the same big party :-) wish it was me :-) Scotsgirl |
You could probably maximize your time in Cairo with a tour, but it is definitely doable on your own. We spent two days on our own there last month and did a ton! Saw the pyramids, visited the Egyptian Museum, Islamic Cairo, the big market, felucca ride, the Citadel...more info and pics in our Cairo post at http://patrinadoestheglobe.blogspot.com/
