Planning a short visit to Jordan - looking for a travel company

We are independent travelers but think we would like a car and driver while visiting Jordan. I have looked at several sites and have followed up an companies recommended by forum writers. I did come across Jezra Travel and wonder if anyone has used them or has heard about them. Any name of a company or driver would be most appreciated. Thanks

We used Petra Night Tours (http://www.petranightstours.com/index.htm ) in January. I am just writing my trip report now and hope to post in the next few days. We would happily use PNT again.

Desert Horizons was the ground operator of my tour in Jordan arranged through Lady Egypt in Egypt.

I have not heard of Jezra.

I organized my Jordan trip directly with Desert Horizons. I had some issues during my trip but I wouldn't completely rule them out. When making arrangements it's good to be clear on if you want a driver, tour guide or both and what your expectations are for those roles.

My husband and I went to Jordan after being in Egypt in December/January of 2011 (right before all the riots started happending there). We were with a group from our home area while in Egypt and left them to continue on to Jordan on our own. I had arranged for a private driver/guide thru Lady Egypt before we left home. We could not have been happier. After being in Egypt we began to worry a little about our extended trip to Jordan but we were greeted at the airport and were led thru all the hassles there, even money exchange, etc. That person took us to our driver/guide who was also at the airport and it was smoooth sailing all the way. We stayed in a wonderful hotel near Petra. Our driver was very nice and knowledgeable. As with all tours, the driver had certain places that he stopped for breaks (all of which had places to shop, etc.)but we never felt pressure to do so. A private guide was arranged for part of the day at Petra and we were met at the end of the day to be taken back to our hotel. We were taken to a very nice resort so that we could "float in the Dead Sea" and given privacy to do so. That was the first time I had used Lady Egypt and was very glad we did! We felt completely safe the entire trip. We had only three days but were glad we made the trip. I haven't posted on here lately because I don't spend a lot of time on a computer but had been in this morning where I posted my own question.

Desert Horizon organized a wondertful trip for us in 2010. Our driver was Bashar and he was the one who made our experience unforgatable.

We just returned from 10 days in Jordan and did all arrangements on our own - rental car, very easy driving conditions (outside the traffic circles in Amman) ...traveled to Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea, Jerash and Amman. We tend to be independent travelers and found Jordan very easy to navigate. Email me if you'd like further details.
