We went to SA two years ago and it was wonderful. We also went to Botswana and Zambia. I don't know how much you are planning on spending on the Kruger part of the trip, but if you are planning to go on safaris and if your budget will accommodate it, the Sabi Sands private reserve is next to Kruger NP and we were told there were a lot more animals there as they really protect them. We stayed at both Cheetah Plains and Elephant Plains lodges as we couldn't book the entire time at either. Both were great. We thought Cheetah Plains just felt so cozy though and we just fell in love with it. It is wonderful for sure. We saw all of the big 5 and some of them several times. It's like nothing you've ever seen before. Of course if you stay in the national park area it's much less expensive, but either way you do it, you can't lose with the Kruger area.
Check with you Travel Meds doctor though as the Kruger area is designated as a 'high risk' area for Malaria. http://www.sa-venues.com/malaria-risk-areas.htm |
Wish people would put in their profile at least what country they live in.
If you're from USA, only 10 days is not worth the flights over and back. (Unless you have private jet). If you're from Europe (with only maybe 1 hour time change), then 10 days is ok, but, still short. regards - tom ps - again don't confuse Kruger, with Kruger National Park, with Greater Kruger Area. |

We went for 14 days from the US and it was well worth the trip.
