This forum needs to be split

It's probably been said before. This forum needs to be split in two, one forum for "sahara" Africa & middle east, another forum for "safari" Africa (sub-sahara).

I have trouble finding the safari-related topics on this board, and it's annoying to have to look for them every time. I hardly frequent this board anymore, and spend most go my time in SafariTalk now.

With so few posting of either type, I have no problems with finding safari related ones.

Now we have a forum this with little activity. If it is split, we would have two forums with almost zero activity!!!

Do you think splitting it would increase safari postings? I doubt it.

I agree with Tom. I check this forum every day and never have to scroll down very far to get to yesterday's posts.

I think it might help to have a specific "Safari" forum....whether that be East or South Africa or wherever. I find the subject difference between a tour to Egypt or Morocco and a safari to Africa to be off-putting. Two totally different experiences. There might be more postings to a safari forum by those who go.

It would also be wonderful if one could include a few photos in a trip report like can be done on Safari Talk.

Tom,

I think it's the other way around. This forum has little activity because there's no split sahara/sub-sahara.

Ciao,

Funny how the Europe forum manages to struggle along with many more countries than this one. If you are interested in specific countries use View by Country option. I am only interested in N. Africa and the ME, but I have no trouble finding those threads.

This splitting was suggested/discussed about 5 years ago? Obviously nothing came of it.

I suppose splitting it couldn't hurt it much .

I can understand why Safari Talk gets more postings. But Fodors should have more here because it is a better known travel site. Trip Adv continues to amaze me with the know nothing indiscriminate reviews by travelers. "Best safari ever" - of course, it was their ONLY safari ever!!
