Iphone/Ipad in Guatemala

Is it possible to buy a sim card for IPhone in Guatemala? I know I have to get AT&T to unlock it first.

Also, is there a microdata card for the IPad available or should I try to rely on wireless where I can find it? I will be in Antigua and San Pedro de Laguna, also Flores/Tikal for a weekend.

Thanks,

Ginger aka LynnieD

Search Guatemala sim card and you will find a lot of link options.

Here are 3 decent looking info sources [just skimmed fast]

A few years ago I picked up a cheap cell phone in Guatemala and every year when I head back I buy a new card (they give the old number away in between visits).

I've never done it since the Coop school has wireless, but I've heard you can buy/rent the little things to stick in a computer (GSM modem, maybe?) in San Pedro now - don't know about microdata cards for ipads. There are quite a few restaurants and bars that have wireless, too.

Another question, will I need a plug adaptor?

The voltage is the same but occasionally I come across 2 prong outlets. If you have 3 prong appliances you might want to pick up a cheap little 3 to 2 prong adapter before you head out.
