Can I stay on island and catch another ship home
This is my first cruise question and I have searched for an answer before posting but don't see the information I am seeking. Can I take a cruise to the Bahamas and disembark the ship for 3 or 4 day stay on the island and then catch a different cruise ship back to the mainland? If so is the price any different than if I were to just stay on the ship and complete the roundtrip cruise? I am trying to research online and don't see that option. Thank you for your help.

Nope, can't be done. You would have to pay full fare on both ships even if you got off or 'missed the ship'. The only way to get on a ship at it's next port is if you missed the ship and the ship will know that. Met a lady who missed the ship in Nassau and it cost her $1800 to fly via sea plane- to next port. She paid but ship set it all up. If you want to stay in the Bahamas just fly there, don't cruise there!

It can be done but not with any of the mass market cruise lines.
Check out Discovery Cruise. The ship is a bit old and the atmosphere is ... well ... very much party all the time. They run it like a ferry service with daily departures except Wednesdays.
I rhink the fare is cheaper than airfare, and they even offer a "crusie 'n stay" package. Their web site is: www.discoverycruiseline.com
I have never cruise with them. This is not an endorsement of any type, I just happen to come across their broucher while vacationing in Florida. They were offering $99 one day crusie inclyuding buffet and drinks.
Check them out and decide on your own.
