Scavi Tour Reservations - is it possible to change them?
Hello everyone! Okay so my husband and I and another couple have our reservations confirmed for the Scavi tour on April 29th. We may have a slight change in itinerary and it would be great if we could change the tour for a later date. I know these tours can be difficult to come by (I've already taken the tour once, in 04) so I don't want to press our luck. Has anyone else changed a reservation confirmation with any success? Is this even possible?
Thanks!
Tracy

Arethusa is for locked houses in Pompeii and has nothing to do with the Scavi tour, which is normally used to describe the tour of the excavations under St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
You can try, but bear in mind that April 29 is two days after Easter, which brings many religious pilgrims to Rome, and that Scavi tours may be fully booked that week.

To quote from the website of Church of Santa Sussana (American Catholic church in Rome) regarding Scavi tour: "they don't take it too kindly if you try to change a reservation after receiving confirmation..".
I don't think that they would process a change due to the very large number of applications that they receive. If you do email and request a change you may never hear back and they may just cancel your reservation. This doesn't seem worth the risk. Your best bet may be to just do a new application and pay the fee again.

Thank you all. We are still working out the details but I'm going to try to just keep our original reservation. If we do need to make changes we'll just send in a new request and pay the fee again.
Thanks!
