Honeymoon Help!!
Hello Everyone! I just came across this website tonight and I think I came to the right place to find an amazing Caribbean Honeymoon.
My fiance' and I are getting married June 11th. (can't come soon enough) We are wanting to go to someplace in the Caribbean. We would like to find a place that has nice beaches, but also find a place that has a lot of outdoor activities also. We both absolutely love the outdoors. Talking with her some possible activities we would like to do would be snorkling/scuba, hiking, kayaking, 4 x 4 rentals to explore. Would love to experience amazing/intense flora and fauna, waterfalls and awesome tropical rain forests. We are looking to spend 10 days - 2 weeks there. Some islands i have been looking at are Grenada, St. Kitts, St Lucia, Nevis. Any help you can provide in helping make a decision would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Dave

dwsjr11 - One thing you should know is snorkeling leaves a lot to be desired on all of the islands on your list. If snorkeling is a high priority for you consider going to one of the USVI's or BVI's. Generally speaking you find better snorkeling around the flatter more arid islands. That's one of the tradeoffs travelers to the Caribbean often have to make. That's not to say there's no snorkeling around the islands on your list but rather it's just not something to write home about.
Based on what you are seeking Grenada offers just about everything on your list followed closely St. Lucia. While Nevis & St. Kitts are lush islands the rain forests on Grenada and St. Lucia are bigger and better and you'll have a better chance of discovering waterfalls.
So, for this trip you should concentrate your search to either Grenada or St. Lucia. Do some basic google searches using such topics as "Things to do on NAME OF ISLAND" and check out the official tourist's websites for each island. You'll find plenty of information and links to help you narrow your choice to one island. After you do that, start looking at resorts to find those in your price range. Pretty soon your reservations will be in place and you can begin counting the days to your honeymoon.

@ qwovadis - What do you like about Nevis?
@ RoamsAround - Thank you for your advice. As far as the snorkeling, I have been before in the bahamas, bermuda and pretty much every island of hawaii, but my soon to be wife definitely wants to snorkel. We have also thought about getting scuba certified before we go because neither of us has done that and would love too. How is the snorkeling/scuba on St Lucia. Oh and trust me, we are already counting down the days, I have a countdown on my phone. Is there any other islands you think we should consider that would have the activities we want?
@ Keith - When we first started thinking about places i came across costa rica and thought it looked amazing. Gotta love active volcanoes in the same are you are! Whats your experience with costa rice in regards to the activities i mentioned above? And we aren't dead set having to be on an island, just someplace that offers the activities that we love.

ALthough I have heard great things about the shore (would love to return to see nesting turtles), my time ws in the interior where I enjoyed seeing two active volcanos, both types of sloths, two kinds of monkeys and many birds, mammals and lizards. The many types of hummingbirds and the nearly tame White-nosed Coatis are very entertaining.
The are hotels where you can watch the Pyroclastic flow on Arenal from your room.
I enjoyed hiking, zip lines, horseback riding and bicycling during my trip. The prices were pretty reasonable.

Congratulations to both of you! You may consider visiting Windward @ Prickly Bay - http://www.windwardpricklybay.com/facilities.htm. We were there last time and we really have an awesome vacation with the great venue. The place is so lovely and staying to a comfortable inn also, the experienced become more unforgettable!

Congratulations on your engagement! I would definitely recommend a St Lucia honeymoon. We went there for our honeymoon last year and it was amazing. We used this fantastic site to help us to decide where to go and they helped us from beginning to end. Their tips and advice were second to none...and we even managed to get free flight upgrades there and back www.holidaysplease.co.uk/honeymoons/advice Hope this helps you as much as it helped us!
