Lodging & Trip either Salt Lake to Yellowstone or Denver to Yellowstone
We are trying to work out a road trip from either Salt LAke or Denver thru Tetons on to Yellowstone and end up in Cody to visit my Dad. Any help would be great...
We won't have alot of time 4 days for that part of the trip (we know that is not alot of time but that is all we have) and we would like to stay in nice places...and here is the hard part ..we have no reservations for the 1st week of August...
I found this website so we were thinking of following these routes... the Orange one in particular.

their lodging recs leave alot to the imagination.
I did find the Black Swan Inn in Pocatello Idaho looks like fun

You could get from Denver to Jackson in a day, do a loop through Grand Teton up to Yellowstone the next day, spend a couple of days in the park (start calling Xanterra regularly to see if there are any room cancellations), and drive out the east entrance to Cody on day four. It would be a little rushed, but if you only have four days, it could work.

If you get a cancellation, take it. I don't think you'd really have a bad choice. We stayed in the least expensive cabins at Old Faithful, Mammoth, and Canyon, and they were pretty nice.
Go to www.nps.gov/yell , click on lodging, and you can see what the different lodges, etc. look like.
