Choosing A Barcelona Hotel Room for Three Adults for October Visit

This is harder than I thought because many Barcelona hotels have very modern-looking rooms; I'm finding a lot of trendy. I've found a variety of hotels; however, I'm not sure which one has the charm I'm looking for. I am traveling with my two daughters, 20 and 22. We need a Triple bed room. I've found rates for Triples from €151 to €235. €250 is probably tops for price. There were some hotels I liked, but they only had Single or Double bed rooms. We are used to walking, but probably want something within 10-15 minutes of a major site. I like rooms that are light. I've looked at many, many web sites, spent time in Borders, and read numerous trip reports. Here is what I've found: Hotel Barcelona Catedral, Hostal L'Antic Espai, NH Duc de la Victoria, Hotel Curious, Hotel Regina Barcelona, Hotel Constanza, Hotel Colon, and Petit Palace Museum Hotel. What do you think about these possibilities? Do any stand out as a good choice? Is there another possibility that you would add to the mix? Thanks for your help.

This hotel is more traditionally decorated than many in Barcelona is well located in the exaimple, I believe, and has triples. I have no firsthand experience and don't know about the light aspect but it might be worth a look.

Thank you for the suggestion! I looked up the hotel on Trip Advisor and it appears the best thing going for the hotel is it's excellent location; however, recent reviewers have concerns about the condition of the rooms. I think I'll keep looking.

I thought Hotel Colon is as traditional as you can get. It's right across from the Cathedral at a very convenient location.

We stayed at a Hispanos 7 Suizas, apartments but with a front desk and services like a hotel. They are two bedroom/2 bath units, very nice, W/D, DW, etc.. Location is about a block from La Sagrada Familia. I found it on Maribel's Guides which is so helpful.

Thanks for replying. The Hispanos 7 Suizas is not available for our time frame. I'm getting more interested in Hotel Colon. The reviewers on TA praise the location. It would be great if the Superior Double Room pictured on the website would be what we found when opening the door!

I just came back from Barcelona with a group of friends.
We stayed at the Casa Fuster which is on the Passeig de Gracia. It is a beautiful neighborhood and walking distance to most of the sites that you want to visit.
Or you can take the HOP On HOP Off bus which is 2 blocks from the hotel.
The hotel is very beautiful, the service was top notch, and their rates are comparable to the hotels you are looking at.
You should look at it.

I looked at that hotel last night and thought, this is it! But, with three people they require two rooms. Some of the hotels that I've really liked only have singles or doubles, no triples.

I have booked a triple (one bed is a sofa bed) at Hotel Catalonia Catedral for myself and two children who are about the same ages as yours. It seems to be a good location, fairly new. You can check it out on Tripadvisor.

You can also plug your information on Venere.com and see what it comes up with. Venere also has customer reviews, photos, etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions! BeyondKingsmill, the Hotel Catalonia Catedral website only lists doubles, with no mention of a sofa bed. Did you contact the hotel directly for this request? Doh, I looked up Habitat Apartments and Bcngotic Apartments. This might work. I just want to find a place to stay that is a clear favorite.

I always contact hotels directly and discuss specific rooms and needs.

Yes, I emailed the hotel. They responded very quickly and answered all my questions. Good luck. And enjoy the trip!

Hi BeyondKingsmill, Do you have their email address for general inquiries? The only way I can see to contact the hotel is when I go ahead and book a room. Looking at TA pictures I see the sofa bed, thanks for the heads up! I'm going to take another look at the other hotels I liked but thought we needed two rooms - thanks jubilada.
