Prague Private Guide Recommendation
Looking for recommendations, from first hand experience, of a private guide for a full day tour in Prague. I have searched the forums and have some good selections, but thought I would ask again for suggestions from those who may not have posted their recommendations before.

Hi Dwzemens, We hired a guide, Helena Martinkova (through Prague Personal Guide), and were very glad we did. She was very informative and helpful; we would highly recommend her services. Here's some more on our trip if you are interested. http://home.roadrunner.com/~TomShirl...UBLIC2009.HTML

On my first trip to Prague we used the services of Dana Chaloupka as a tour guide. She was extremely nice, helpful and knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English. She had a website http://sweb.cz/travelcz
On my second trip we had two guided tours provided by General Tours, and our knowledgeable and English-fluent guide, Jana Lukesova, freelanced as well. Her email address was [email protected]
Sabina, email [email protected] has been often recommended here. Another often-recommended guide is Sarka Pelantova. Also suggested by Rick Steves. Information about Sarka can be found at http://www.guide-prague.cz/guide/spa/pelantova-sarka

We were in Prague in May, 2008 and hired a guide for the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. It was a half day tour on our 1st day there and really laid the foundation for our trip. We felt a connection with the Czech people and their endurance. Milan Pelant was our guide and we would highly recommend him. This is the bio that was sent to us before the tour.
Milan is a licensed tour guide of the Czech Republic and Prague. He has worked as a tour guide for 10 years for several local companies. He can speak English, German, French, Italian. He is very informative guide with a human approach and a great sense of humor. He can bring the history alive and let you understand the fears and the dreams of local people. He was an active member of the Velvet Revolution 1989, so his stories definitely cross the borders of the guidebooks!http://www.prague-guide.info/

We just returned from the trip to Prague. After contacting several private guides in Prague, my email exchanges led me to believe that the best choice for us was Gabriela Zelenkova.
Our group of four was delighted with my choice of Gabriela. She is a Prague native who truly loves her city and has developed a *tremendous* knowledge of everything about the city. Gabriela provided us with a full day of sightseeing throughout the city, from the Charles Bridge to Old Town, New Town, the Jewish Quarter and back again to the Lesser Town and the Prague Castle. She even took us on a tram ride and a funicular ride up Petrin Hill.
The information she provided us about her beautiful city was truly amazing. She is a delightful person with a great sense of humor. Her English is almost flawless and this added to our enjoyment of the tour.
Not only did we learn about the wonderful city, but we also learned much about Prague daily life, politics and family life as well from spending time with Gabriela.
I highly recommend her as a private guide in Prague. You won't be disappointed. You can contact Gabriela at her business website:

Two weeks ago I was in Prague and tried this tour:
