Gorilla Trek Rwanda

I am hoping to schedule a gorilla trek in Rwanda for August. Is it likely that we will see many snakes during the trek at this time of year?

No, I've gone several times and have not seen one in Rwanda. August would be a low snake time due to being the dry season. However, it is possible to see a snake, just as it is possible to encounter one in the woods or park at home.

I'd bet you a gorilla permit that you won't see one if you bet me a gorilla permit you will see one. And I'll double the offer.

We didn't see any snakes but I did see a worm that was the size of a snake...it freaked me out!

atravelynn - I'll have to give serious consideration to your bet

OSC100, look up Eos Visions Rwanda on www.eos-visions.com. They should be able to give you almost immediate response.

Please just go and enjoy the awesome experience of being with the gorilla's it did not even enter my mind that I might see a snake and I didn't. I went in a September. Don't let the small possibility of seeing a snake deter you from one of the most amazing wildlife experiences you are ever likely to have.

I wholeheartedly agree with Bwino!

We saw that giant worm too -- our guide called it "the farmer's friend." I went ahead and added it to my animal sightings list.
