San Diego - end of March. Too cold for swimming?
Traveling to San Diego at the end of March. Wondering what the normal temps might be and if it's too cold to swim, boogie board, etc. What's the nicest beach for teens?

Here's a chart. You decide. Too cold for me. Many people use wet suits.

Someone else can perhaps answer your question about a nice beach for teens. When I was a teen, if it had sand, water, and some waves, that was fine by me.

It very likely will rain sometime during March, with the probability of rain decreasing during April. See:

kids don't seem to mind the cold as us adults but you'll need a wetsuit and you can rent them from LJ Shores surf shop..
Great beaches are LJ Shores, Del Mar, Carlsbad and Coronado.
Also, if they aren't used to the waves, could be problematic for storm waves can be huge and dangerous.
Come back in Aug/Sept/Oct for gorgeous water and Indian summer days.
Have fun in SD..native and happy to help!

March just isnt cold for water temp, but probably the worst month for waves too. In March the best you can hope for is a Santa Ana condition w/ 80 daytime temps(70 at the beach) to where you can enjoy your time at the beach and maybe get a 10-15 min romp in the ocean.

It's difficult to know what the weather will be like at the end of March. Even if it rains chances are it won't rain all day, unless we get really lucky. The weather can change suddenly too be prepared.
