7 days in Poland?
Hi, I am going to Poland next May 2010. I was told that Krakow, Varsow and GdansK are beautiful places. How many days should I spend in each city if I only have 7 nights? Should I stay in one or two cities or it is enough time to see all of them? Thanks a lot for your help.

With only seven nights, I would limit your time to two cities; travel time in between will take up a good part of a day.
I was in Krakow for four days and Warsaw for three, and wouldn't have wanted less. Here's my trip report to give you some ideas:

Hi; Agree with Amy. Two cities 'max'. Many day trips from Krakow. Go to www.inyourpocket.com/ for good downloads of information. Click on the city and then 'instant'. Richard

I definitely wouldn't try to do more than 2. I spent 4 days in Krakow (which was absolutely beautiful) and was not able to do all of the side trips that I wanted to do (particularly Auschwitz). Also, if you stay in Krakow easy access to the Tatra mountains / Zakopane - could easily do a night or two there if you wanted to see somehting other than the city...

I live in Krakow and I can definitely tell you that 4 days is a minimum length of stay if you also want to visit other cities around Krakow - Wieliczka (salt mine), Auschwitz, Ojcow (lots of beautiful rocks) or Zakopane (a little bit further, but still, you can go there only for one day if you want to). There's no problem with finding accomodation - here we have a lot of nice, comfortable and well informed hostels, where staff speaks English (like for example Aston in the city center, recommended by my friend from France).
May is a great month in Krakow - we have some festivals, beautiful weather and still not so big number of tourist then. really hope that you'll enjoy Krakow!
