Black Sea Steamer transportation from Romania to Turkey

50 years ago when I was in the service I sailed on a Black Sea Steamer from Sinop to Istanbul. I want to get from Bucharest to Istanbul and was wondering if there is a similar mode of transportation from Bucharest or Constantsa to Istanbul ? If not, what is the best way to make this trip and return to Bucharest? Your help is appreciated.

Shipping services on the Black Sea are extremely difficult to track down. Ships come and go, and many are probably not of the standard we would want: some are registered in Sierra Leone or even Cambodia.
The list from 'Let's Go Istanbul' kindly provided by Hetismij shows the ARIELLE sailing between Istanbul and Constanta, but the ship was actually scrapped in 2006.
I can't find any ships currently running between Romania and Istanbul. There is a daily train with sleepers and couchettes from Bucuresti at 1216, arriving in Istanbul the next morning at 0825. I have no personal experience of trains from Romania.

There are ferries from Varna in Bulgaria to Odessa, and from Odessa to Istanbul. I'm not sure how easy it is from Bucharest to Odessa but maybe that is a possibility?

A friend suggested that we go to Rome, etc to help fill in these 30 days. Flying appears to be the only way to get there and back to Bucharest. All thoughts will be appreciated on this venture. Which airline might be the least expensive?

Again, inputs are appreciated.
