Can anyone suggest places to go in Europe in October

I am going to a friends wedding in Italy in October. I am single, adventurous and I have probably 10-14 days to explore Europe. What would be some good places to go? I heard Interlaken is great but not sure how it is in October.

Probably anywhere in southern Europe would be pretty good, but staying in one country, Italy, for example, and seeing several of the main places, will save you time and money.

Depending on where you'll be for the wedding...you have many hoices. October is harvest time for the vineyards so anywhere in Tuscany, Piedmonte, Alto Adige, Veneto, etc will be full of festivals, markets, etc to celebrate. If you are into art....any of the major cities will fit the bill for a anywhere from 4 days to the full 14 days! Are you planning to rent a car or use public transportation? If you haven't spent time in Italy, I'd just stay there.

Germany and Austria are great in September-October. From Italy, you could travel into the Tirol Region of Austria visiting Hall in Tirol and Innsbruck and then go into Germany. Mittenwald, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Ludwig Castles and then Munich would be nice.

October is a great time to go anywhere unless you want a beach vacation.
Where have you been, or where have you always wanted to go?
You could see some of Italy and Switzerland, or Italy and Croatia, or Italy and Greece, or Italy and Austria, Italy and France, or, just Italy.

October is a great time for Provence. The weather, at least in the first half, is generally mild and pleasant, and the summer crowds have evaporated. We especially like the area around Nice.

Croatia is lovely in October, the temperature is pleasantly comfortable, the worst of the crowds have left, and it is the most lovely place to visit.

I'm going back for the third time in October!

Hi, thank you for your replies so far. I have been to Italy before...Venice, Florence and Rome. I am going to be in Montegranaro, whic is on the opposite coast of Rome and probably and hour north. After that I am going to Milan to visit family. Now my friends who went backpacking say to go to Interlaken but they went in the summer so im not sure how that would be in October. I think i would like to check amsterdam out too. Im very interested in history, not so much art. Again I am 17 and single so some nightlife would be nice too. Thank you for help in advance.

for fun and nightlife, check out Barcelona.
Another option for the same - Berlin or Amsterdam ( if the the weather does not matter.)

Some weddings last longer than others.
