Ristorante Lo Scoglio in Marina del Cantone

A "foodie" friend of mine recommended this restaurant while we are in Positano but, she questioned whether it's still in business. I didn't have a lot of luck searching for it online. Has anyone heard of this restaurant and if so, would you confirm if it's still in business?

Thank you!!

I have heard of it, I have been there and it is still in business. My brother in law works for Lo Scoglio. Buon appetito!

BTW, I didn't comment on the food because I don't feel really qualified to. I ate at Lo Scoglio once, just last year, and it was great. The restaurant does have a wonderful reputation, although it is not as popular as some other restaurants in the area.

FYI, in case you're into celeb spotting... Princess Caroline of Monaco was there earlier this summer and actor Michael Douglas has eatenden there a few times as well.

I will be in the area later this month as well so maybe our paths will cross...

We were at Lo Scoglio April 30 for our Italian honeymoon! Lo Scoglio was the best restaurant in Italy during our travels (Sorrento, Marina del Cantone, Rome, Venice, Florence, Assisi areas). To the different authors of this topic...do you happen to have a picture of this restaurant for our "album"? I searched online for their website...unsuccessful! Also, if you have the email of the owner or for the restaurant, please forward this to me. Thank you! Greetings from Virginia, USA.

Lo Scoglio is working, no doubt and I agree that it is very great; I had a lunch last December few days before Christmas and it was gorgeous (not cheap, anyway).
The problem for Lo Scoglio is its location, between two "big names" of Penisola Sorrentina restaurants: Quattro Passi and La Taverna del Capitano.
What it can happen is some "fight" with the clients spectators, between the cute grand daughter and her grand mother because of personal issues.
But, anyway, we do not know the word "privacy" !!!

Vincenzo

I'm sorry Virginia, I don't have either the hotel web address or an email address for the restaurant. Actually, we never made it to this restaurant. I'm SO overdue with writing a trip report for our October trip last year.

In any case, I'm glad to hear you loved the restaurant. I guess we'll just have to go on a return trip!

Virginia - I did a quick search on the internet and found these.

You'll also see Lo Scoglio in some general shots of Marina del Cantone or Nerano.
