parador Amigos Card?

We want to stay at several paradors in Spain and we heard we ought to get an Amigos card. We emailed the US site given on the paradores.es website, but have received no response. Do we have to make a reservation or actually show up the first time to get one? Any advice? ¡Gracias!

You can apply for the Amigos card when you check into your first Parador.

The following is from the official Parador web site (https://www.parador.es):

If you still don't have an Amigos card, don't wait any longer! Register for one during your next stay at a Parador. All you have to do is fill in the registration form and your card will promptly be sent to your place of residence.

Free. Exclusive. Filled with benefits.

The Amigos de Paradores card was created to reward our best customers, those who visit us most frequently.

Our card members will receive exclusive benefits, including:

* Free stays
* Welcome drink
* Exclusive offers
* Online reservations
* Free garage parking
* Amigos Customer Service Center

I am new to this as well but have been advised that there are advantages of having a card when you arrive (free parking, free drink and sometimes preferred rooms) plus the points towards future free rooms. When you reserve your room online at the end of the reservation they invite you to join. That is the best place to do it. I did not and did email them (in Spain) and was told you can only apply via the web in conjunction with an order. They did fax me a form which I faxed it back. The card is supposed to be mailed to me. Here is their contact info:

Robert2533-I was posting at the same time as you so I did not see your reply. Is there a registration card on that site (other than when you reserve a room)? If so, where is it?

The only way I know of obtaining the card is to apply for it when you check in at a Parador for the first time. You will receive a receipt that you can use until you receive the actual card.

Make sure you keep track of your receipt with the number in case you misplace your Amigos card.

Thank you Robert & RLM (always informative-rlm) I will try both ways. For some reason I didn't get the "stay at the parador once" idea. They had a site in Calif here so I could email, but haven't heard. Thanks again, Amigos!

If you want, you can contact Petrabax West, the official USA rep for the Paradors and see what they say.

I got mine online at the parador.es website. Was rather impressed when the package came in the mail, and have been even more impressed at the quality and value of the paradors.

Thanks, I was able to apply (amigos card) online when I made my 1st res. When I put in my address, they asked for the street on the 1st line & the street # on the 2nd. There was no place to put the state. I sure hope it comes. Does anyone know how long it takes? We leave in a month.
